An important step getting started using TAP outside of the demo area in Colorado, USA, is creating a Topo Data Portfolio that tells TAP where the terrain data is located in your file system.  It is not a difficult process and it is thoroughly covered starting on page 11 of our Installation and Setup Guide pdf that can be downloaded here:  TAP Installation and Setup Guide.
