Setting Map Template in HDCoverage™

Q:  How can I set the field strength level template I want to use for a coverage map?

A:  With TAP6.0.2236 or later and a Maintenance Subscription date of April 30, 2008, or later, you can set a field strength level template to use when plotting the map of the coverage.

Note that all values in this example are for demonstration purposes only.  You should determine appropriate settings for your application.

For example, suppose you have created a new Tile study in HDCoverage, using a Mobile Facility record with a Required Field level as shown:

When you run the study and it is plotted in HDMapper, the default setting is to display locations that meet or exceed the Required Field level in green, and locations with a field strength below that level in red.

You can also set up a study and click the Configuration menu in HDCoverage and then click the “Select Coverage Template” item.  A list of existing coverage templates will be displayed.  You can click the one you want to use for this study.

(The coverage templates are created as described in the Saving Value Templates in HDMapper article.)

When you run the study that includes a coverage template, the map is plotted initially using the field strength levels and the color and fill settings in the selected template:

You can still double-click the legend entry and make further manual changes in the settings:
