Importing FCC Data – Intermod Studies

Q: How can I import File Exchange Formatted FCC data  or Percon FCC data into TAPÔ for use in an intermodulation study?

A: TAP systems on Maintenance Subscriptions in effect on or after June 15, 2003, and updated to Build 908 or later, have a new selection in the list for importing data into intermod studies.

The TAP Intermod program includes a function to import data from other sources, such as Excel spreadsheets. The current version includes the  "Percon FCC Data" options.

When you select this option the program will prompt you select a database file (typically SLATLM.DBF, but if the file has a different name, you can select any file name) to import. (Note that this is the same Percon output file used for importing into the TAP Fixed Facility Database.)

When the file you want has been selected, click the Import button:

After the import process has completed, you can inspect or edit the records in the Intermod Data section of the form:

For example, by default, the Transmit and Receive frequencies may not be flagged for inclusion in the intermod study. You can mark individual records one at a time with the "Use TX?" checkbox.

You can also click the "Use All Transmitters" button to mark all the records:

Once you have the data configured as you want it, you can run the intermod study normally.
