Corrupted Defaults File
Q: Every time I try to draw a profile I get the error message “Error 13 – Type Mismatch”. How can I correct this?
A: It sounds like a corrupted value in the defaults file. (This can also happen with other TAP functions, such as a coverage study.)
Settings from one session of TAP to the next are saved and loaded the next time you run TAP. If the file gets corrupted or some other problem occurs, you might see the error you described.
In the folder where TAP is installed, find the file
SWDEFAULTS.INI
Rename it to something like
SWDEFAULTS.001
Renaming is suggested instead of just deleting the file in case you later need to recover some of the values in the defaults file. If this is the case, please contact support@softwright.com
Note that renaming this file does not affect the TAP Fixed Facility Database, the Mobile Facility Database, previously run coverage studies, or the other data saved in your TAP system.
After renaming the defaults file, the next time you run TAP it will not find the bad value and the error should go away.
