Intermod Transmitter Groups

Q: How do the "transmitter groups" work in the Intermod program.

A: The TAPÔ Intermod program (build 336 and later) includes the option of specifying a "group" for each transmitter record in the intermod data base.

Frequencies that are in the same group (any non-zero number) will not be used together.

For example, suppose you have three potential or "candidate" frequencies for one new transmitter at a site. You can mark the three candidates as the same group number. Then each of the frequencies will be considered in combination with all the other transmitter frequencies in the data base with no group number (or in a different group number) in the search for potential intermod products. However, any combination involving other frequencies in the same group will be ignored. This allows you to enter several candidate frequencies for the study. By examining the results, you can determine which of the candidates can be used as a new frequency at the site with the least potential for intermod problems.
