TAP 6.0 is Shipping
The newly released version of the Terrain Analysis Package
Software (TAP) has far fewer screens to navigate for designing
point-to-point studies and wide area coverage. There are essentially two
screens to use. HDPath handles all the information for designing individual paths. The other for area rf coverage design is called
HDCoverage. For more details on these two approaches click on the
links to the right.
All current subscribers to a TAP software maintenance agreement
will automatically receive the new version. We are presently
shipping new maintenance CDs and the accompanying new printed
manual. For a limited time you will also be able to continue using
your TAP 5 software. All files are presently compatible with both
versions. This gives you the opportunity to learn TAP 6 without the
immediate pressure of learning a new user interface. The older TAP 5
screens will continue through a few months into 2006, but will
eventually be removed. No new enhancements to TAP 5 will be made in
the future.
If you are not on a current maintenance subscription, please
contact Curt Alway at SoftWright by clicking email below and ask him
to provide you with a quotation so that you may begin to use this
extremely versatile software.

HDPath |

HDPath is our completely new rf software for point-to-point path design. Select or key in any two fixed facilities
and instantly see the details of the path. Studies such as
reflection analysis, antenna heights, path clearances, and
shadow studies are all done within this one screen, assuming
you have licensed the appropriate software modules.

HDCoverage |

HDCoverage is the easier way to calculate coverage maps
for wireless applications. HDCoverage allows you
to access everything you need to calculate an rf coverage map
from one screen.
All licensed propagation modules may be configured from
this screen. On the left side of the screen you have access to
the fixed facilities database for transmitting details. On the
right side you have access to configure the receiving
facilities. You can also graphically select the area on the
map where you wish to perform coverage analysis.

HDMapper |
| |
Although we introduced HDMapper some time ago, some
customers have not fully transitioned to using it to plot
their calculated coverage. It is a very powerful presentation
tool for your calculated area coverage maps. It employs
ShapeFiles which allow you to make multiple layered
presentations including such things as street maps, highways,
water bodies, railroads and any other information that you may
acquire in a ShapeFile format.
All users on a current maintenance subscription have
already received a large set of ShapeFiles from around the
world to be used in your coverage map presentations. We do
have a number of other databases such as high- resolution
street maps and US Census population data so that you can
evaluate your coverage on criteria other than square miles or
a certain level of signal.
