New TAP 4.5 - 3D Display Module
The newest module developed by SoftWright for TAP is the 3D
Display Module. With this module, you can plot coverage maps on top
of the three-dimensional views of the topgraphy.
It is a functional replacement for a SURFER(tm) upgrade. With 3DD
you can view from far or close up the lay of the land as well as the
received signal predicted for a specific region. In addition to the
field strength, you can also overlay graphic images such as aerial
photographs or USGS topographic maps, many of which can be
downloaded at no additional cost from the USGS.
The cost of purchasing the 3D Display module is $450. There is a
competitive upgrade for $150 for those of you who have previously
purchased SURFER(tm).

Greetings!
SoftWright LLC recently announced that the Terrain Analysis
Package Software can now fully utilize the newly available
Space Shuttle Radar Topography Mission data acquired by NASA.
This high-resolution topography data offers the benefit of
much more accurate radio coverage predictions and path link
studies than were realistic prior to the space shuttle
mission. Elevation data is now available for most of Europe,
Asia as well as South, Central and North America.

High-Resolution Space Shuttle Topography Data
Available |
| |
The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) has been a
joint project between the National Imagery and Mapping Agency
(NIMA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA). This radar system gathered data that will result in
the most accurate and complete topographic map of the Earth's
surface that has ever been assembled.
SoftWright's TAP software has been substantially
restructured to fully support the SRTM data format. We are
producing off-the-shelf products of this new high-resolution
data to be used within our RF system design software. At
present we have available data for North, Central and South
America as well as Europe and Asia in 3-arc second resolution.
This newly developed database is a quantum leap forward in
both topography data accuracy and resolution from the
previously available 30-second resolution. This evolution
within our software has taken approximately one and one half
years in development and is now fully included in all new TAP
systems and all TAP systems that are on a current software
maintenance agreement. If you are on a current software
maintenance subscription, this new capability is provided at
no additional cost as a regular new technology enhancement to
the TAP software. If you would like for advise you about the
details, please contact us.
