Software Maintenance Release For Licensed Users of the
Terrain Analysis Package (TAP)
These "Maintenance Release" files contain updated program information for
licensed users of TAP. They may be used only by licensed users and only in
accordance with the SoftWright Software Licensing Agreement.
The file you download (UPDATE.EXE) is a self-extracting installation
file. Run the file from File Manager, Windows Explorer, or from the Run
command to install the release. The release must be installed in the same
directory (typically C:\SWTAP) as the existing TAP software installation.
If you are using a release of TAP
before build 250: You can find the release (or
"build") number of your TAP software in the Help|About menu. The release is the
third part of the version information (such as 6.0.888) shown
on the About form. If you do not currently have TAP Maintenance Release 250 or later
installed, DO NOT INSTALL this maintenance release. Please contact
SoftWright to place an order for the software. This maintenance release does
not include several files that must be installed with TAP. Attempting to
run this incompatible maintenance release alone without these files previously installed
will cause unpredictable results.
If you are using TAP Version 5.0 or
earlier: The updates for TAP are intended to be
backward-compatible with older versions. However, as enhancements are
added to the current version of the software, it is possible that you may
encounter problems installing the update with earlier versions.
It is
strongly recommended that you DO NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE FOR TAP
5 OR EARLIER. If you decide to install the update and problems are encountered, email and
phone support will only be available if you have a current
Support Subscription. You can find help
in our web site FAQs, but other help will not be available without the
Support Subscription if you encounter problems using the downloaded file to update
TAP 5.0 or earlier. If you have questions, please contact
