Our demo software is the actual full software package that you will be using after you purchase your TAP license. We are confident that you will find it more helpful to evaluate the actual software than to check out a slickly prepared slide or video demonstration. Although we hope that you will decide to move ahead quickly to purchase your SoftWright radio system design software, our demo does not put a limit on your evaluation period. There are two demo files to download to provide full access to both the Terrain Analysis Package and the Asset Manager Module. Updates on the demo software can always be obtained by downloading the latest release number from the home page and installing it when you had a previous version of the respective demos.
Terrain Analysis Package Software (TAP)
The only restriction with the TAP demo installation will be geographic in nature. You can operate the demo only within the specified geographic area which is an area that encompasses both mountains and flat lands and covers a region of about 100 by 100 miles (approximately 160 km by 160 km). The topographic data for this region is included with the demo software distribution. The Intermodulation module has a different type of restriction when configured as a demo. All of its features are enabled. However, you may enter only five pairs of frequencies into the database to perform intermod studies. When you license your system, this restriction is eliminated and you may include as many transmitting and receiving frequencies as necessary to be included in your studies. Asset Manager Module
The Asset Manager comes configured with certain tutorial examples in the data files. These may be completely modified using the system. There are no limitations and you may run the program as many times as necessary for you to make your own evaluation, except that after you open and close it for three times it will automatically reset the data files back to the default tutorial data and you loose any data that you have entered for the purpose of your evaluations. You can then begin again with further evaluation, except that any data previously entered (during the previous three sessions) will no longer be present. The only data present at this point will be the original tutorial data. This permits you to explore any feature contained in the software with no record limitations within each of these three sessions of operation of Asset Manager.
Download Demos Right Away
If you want to get started right away with our Terrain Analysis Package - TAP and Asset Manager demo, you may download it and install it without delay. Please be aware that due to the file size you should not attempt this if you are using a dialup phone line for your access to the Internet. Once you have downloaded the software you may install a full-functioning TAP system limited only by the demo constraints. Please contact our technical support department with any operational questions or our sales department to discuss purchasing a licensed copy for your use.
The files you will download are large and will take considerable time. If you have fast digital access it is quite manageable. The file is a self-extracting zip file. When executed, it will unzip to the same files that are on our distribution CD-ROM. You will need an approximately an additional 1.5 GB of disk space to store the install version of the files once they are unzipped. Once the TAP software is installed it will take up approximately 1.0 GB of disk space plus whatever work files you create. The downloaded and unzipped files can then be archived on a CD-ROM for backup purposes and then these files may be removed from your hard disk, after the installed software is operational.
