Newly Released TAP Version 5.0 has High-Definition Mapping
Engine
Aurora, Colorado - June 3, 2004 Because many industries
critically depend on reliable radio telecommunications, SoftWright
is pleased to announce the release of a new generation of rf
coverage presentation tools. The centerpiece of TAP 5.0 is an
entirely new mapping software called HD (High-definition) Mapper.
This state-of-the art GIS mapping software is much easier to use
than previous versions. It's operation is consistent with new
mapping software used in many other quality database driven software
packages. Maps are generated with layers, which can be turned on or
off. Layers can be any shapefiles, which conform to the ESRI
international standards.
TAP 5.0 retains the many familiar rf design tools that are easily
used. Coverage studies now become one of the many layers that can be
plotted on the maps. You have extensive control over eachlayer,
including color, line widths, fill patterns, symbols and values
plotted. Shapefiles can be plotted as graphics showing things such
as roads, streets, civil divisions and may also contain detailed
demographics that are geographically related, such as population,
census details and a wide variety of other information. Because
these are all vector files, there is no pixilation when you zoom in
to see a region up close. Received field strength coverage may also
be plotted in 3D over the topography of the region.
RF System Design Capabilities
TheTerrain Analysis
Package (TAP) for Windows W2K/XP consists of twenty-five modules
that, when combined together, are tools that bring a broad
capability of RF system design to your personal computer. TAP will
prepare path profiles with path line of sight and Fresnel Zone plots
as well as HAAT calcuations. Talk out and talk back coverage maps
can be prepared. There are also a number of specialty modules, which
include tools for optimizing radiation patterns and antenna heights
as well as link budgets for VHF/UHF/microwave system design and view
terrain and coverage in 3D.
