Microsoft Extensions

Q: What are .NET and DirectX and why do I need them?

A: The .NET Framework and the DirectX graphics software are Microsoft extensions to their operating systems to provide additional functionality.

The .NET Framework is required for the 3D Display function in TAP and will be required for future versions of other TAP functions.

The DirectX graphics are required for the 3D Display function in TAP.

These extensions are compatible with Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. The extensions are not compatible and cannot be used on systems running Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 or older operating systems. TAP functions that rely on these extensions cannot be used on Windows 95 or NT4 systems.

You can install the .NET Framework and the DirectX from the SoftWright installation CD for build 928 and later.
