Silent Mode in HDCoverage

Q:  I want to run several area coverage studies in batch mode, but I am missing part of the topo data.  How can I avoid the “missing data” message that interrupts the batch process?

A:  With TAP6.0.2240 or later and a Maintenance Subscription date of June 30, 2010, or later, you can choose to run the study in “silent” mode.

Note that all values in this example are for demonstration purposes only.  You should determine appropriate settings for your application.

If some topographic elevation data is missing for an area specified for a TAP Tile study, after the study has completed, a message such as the following is displayed:

If you set up several studies to run from HDCoverage, as shown below, the message after one study will be on the screen until you click “OK”, preventing the other studies from starting.

You can avoid the pause in the process by marking the “Run in silent mode” checkbox on the “Task(s) to Run” form after you click the Run button in HDCoverage.

Note the computed study will still be incomplete because of the missing elevation data, but all the selected studies will run to completion if the missing elevation data is the only problem.  This silent mode may not prevent the display of other, more serious errors encountered by the program.
