Which Programs do I need to buy?
In order to have maximum efficiency you will need to purchase both software and topographic data files. Below is information that relates to the software only. For details on topographic data available see the area called Topographic Data.
In order to simplify the process of module selection we have put together several grouping of our modules to make a graduated level of system capabilities both in the wide area coverage (2-way, cellular, paging, broadcasting, etc.) and in the point-to-point link arena (microwave, VHF/UHF, point to point, SCADA, etc.). They are explained as follows:
Basic Mapping Module: this is the basic building block module an includes elevation data extraction, search for the highest point in a region, edit elevation data, surface feature files, field strength and North American Datum (NAD) units conversion, path profiles with Fresnel zones and elevation grid files for ASCII export or use with Surfer. The next module most people add is the RF Facilities. This is the module that provides all the necessary connectivity to all the propagation calculation and display modules. If you need to do area coverage, you will need at least one of the propagation modules. If you do link analysis, you will need one or more of the link related modules.
