DTED Data Conversion Module Terrain Analysis Package (TAP) SoftWright's DTED data conversion module provides the capability of in-house conversion of Defense Mapping Agency Digital Elevation Terrain Data (DTED) 3 arc-second files, that are provided to many military and civilian government agencies of the US and other governments. The data files created by this program will be used directly by the TAP Basic Mapping Module to create project files that may be edited by you. These files are used by other TAP modules for radio field strength calculations, etc., or the data can be exported to ASCII files for use with other software needing convenient access to elevation data. While SoftWright has no participation in the decision as to whether the US Defense Mapping Agency will provide any particular TAP user with the DTED files, this program will provide easy access to those files for those enterprises who are provided access to the data. This eliminates the cost of procurement of digital elevation files from other more costly sources. This module is a Windows 95/98/NT4.0 application. Its output files are compatible with both the TAP for Win95/98/NT 4.0 as well as the DOS TAP system Use This TAP Module To: * Convert DTED - Specify path of Defense Mapping Agency CD-ROM data files for DTED (Digital Elevation Terrain Data) and create elevation data files for direct use in you Terrain Analysis Package. * Provide direct data access to TAP Topographic Data Programs - With this program and the TAP Topographic Data Programs create an ASCII file of radial elevation data to be used with your own programs in addition to creating project files that will be accessed by the Terrain Analysis Package.
