SoftWright Asset Manager and Intermodulation Products software

SoftWright's Asset Manager is specifically designed with wireless communication sites in mind. It can operate as a stand-alone software package or fully integrated with your TAP software. This module is used to document all the details of how your equipment is catalogued, installed and maintained at fixed radio sites as well as similar information about mobile units that are being maintained. It enables you to group together related wireless assets, such as all the equipment at a single repeater site, or at a large antenna farm. You can organize the information to keep track of maintenance schedules, equipment inventory including details such as serial numbers, space rental contracts, FCC license expiration dates, driving directions, and a multitude of other pertinent items.

Asset Groups - The starting point for Asset Manager data is the Asset Group. When you start the program, the list of available Asset Groups is the first form displayed. If you have associated a digital photograph with the particular Asset Group, it will be displayed on the screen. This photograph can assist the user in recalling the nature of the particular Asset Group. The photograph will change depending upon which Asset Group you have highlighted. You can define as many Asset Groups as you need. An Asset Group may represent a single base station or repeater, or it may be a large antenna farm with numerous towers and hundreds of licensed facilities. Typically, all of the information under a particular Asset Group will be in the same geographic location, but this is not mandatory. If you want separate Asset Groups to represent (for example) each division of your company, and the assets for that division are located around the country, that is possible. The flexibility of Asset Manager enables you to organize the information as it best fits your needs.

Categories may be user defined. The software is specifically designed for management of radio equipment with many predetermined fields. However, in Asset Manager you may define the categories used to organize your particular asset-related information in a way that is most useful to you. Each time you select from your user-defined categories, you can record specific information about the site, your equipment, maintenance schedules and many other details. This provides great flexibility for the individual user to customize their record for their particular type of operation. Included as a part of this software is the Fixed Facility Database that is also shared with the Terrain Analysis Package (TAP) software. This database includes geographic coordinates of the antenna location, antenna heights, transmitter and receiver frequencies, power and all the engineering information required for engineering studies, should the user also have the TAP software. One may use as much of this database as desired for their particular record keeping.

Report Generator - From the information that you enter into the Asset Manager, you can then create a wide variety of reports. For example, if you wished to know about all the equipment used between any two specified frequencies you may generate such a list. If you needed to know whose antenna rental space leases will expire during the month of November, you may generate this list. You can search on any field in the database. If you wish, you may also use multiple definitions of what you want to find out from your site management database using simple boolean operations.

Import FCC Database into TAP - In order to eliminate the manual data entry of authorized facilities you may import data from the FCC frequency databases using the additional tools with PerCon Corporation.
